Those who came before us

((hope i can interest in this,follows kei's attempt's to find out more about the world and her bizarre and seemingly pointly journey,hoping to find ancient civilizations and more about the past of the diembians and asedai,since this is non-canon anyway i think we can all have fun and explore the possibilities of the world's past and just use our imagination x3))

"in the past,by the brave explorers who came before us and journeyed into the annals of history was our amazing world shaped. Surely, many secrets must still exist today no less than it did in ages of old! six months is all I ask! Lend me your aid on my journey to find these great hidden truths about the origins of our world and and it's people!"

A curious posting hung on the tavern's dimly lit wall,it was a small place where travelers frequently stopped while on their way to roe or myelo,being built between them as a way to reel in weary travels. the owner allowed people to post up job offers on his bill board, one that constantly turned up was the curious recruitment request regarding some baseless crazy search for the world's origins. the postings would expire within two weeks should no one take them up,every now and then a cheerful pink haired squirrel dimebian would turn up and put up the posting once again despite the owner's continued insistence that one was willing to spend six months on a pointless journey.

she never listened to him and he knew she'd be back sooner or later to put it right back up if he took it down,so he eventually gave up on even removing it at this point. the note told anyone interested in taking up her offer to meet her in Fami,and ask for kei rei the wanderer. the owner was bored due to a lack of travelers recently,maybe it had something to do with the two fugitives from miir-sau recently announced by the military...regardless he opted to close up early if nobody was coming to stay for the night.

"I wonder who posted this?"

Looking around and seeing no one nearby, I reach up and pull the post down, carrying it over to a table in a quiet corner, rereading it carefully. Once the words were lodged firmly in my mind, I pulled out my map and unfolded it with care. It was an old map, ancient in comparison to those of other travelers, but it was all I had; and all I need.

A relic from my great-grandfather. He was also the reason why I'd chosen this crazy mission. He had once told me that, in a bygone age, Dimebian and Asedai lived in peace with one another. I wanted to know if that was true and, just maybe, whoever posted this sign, could lead me to the truth.

Once I was certain of where I had to go, I put the map away, drank my tea, and rose, taking the sign with me.

In a day, I would be in Fami, seeking Kei Rei, the Wanderer. Six months away from my search for that bloody clover would do good for my soul.

*one day later*

Fami looked much like any other town I have visited. People going about their daily business, barely aware that others bustled about them. Those few who did take notice of me only took the time to tell me they didn't know where I could find Kei Rei. And so, after a few hours of fruitless searching, I found an inn and retired to the common room, watching the people who moved about the room.

THe owner sighed a breath of relief,happy someone finally took up that ridulous offer.

in fami,evening was coming with still no sign of the wanderer. the common room had that lonesome emptiness brought on by the setting sun as everyone had retired at this point within in their rooms. still there a dozen or so guests still were hanging about.

a cheery voice bid everyone a good evening,a squirell dimebian walked on in, carrying a lute with her. hello guests! this dimebian was kei rei,she was good friends with the owner,playing a song for those who stayed every so often.

kei rei sat down,holding her lute up and strummed it once. ok people! i have a special little tale today! it's called...."

kei rei stopped and thought for a minute,she actually never came up with a name but winging it was kinda her thing anyway.

"kei rei's....walk through life,detailing my most recent venture to miir-sau!" the people let out a chuckled,having grown accustomed to her quirky personality. and with that kei rei began playing her lute and lend her lyrics to accompany the song.

The entrance of the singer made Kya perk up, watching as she took her place with her lute. Upon hearing the singer's name, she came to full attention, wondering if this was the same Kei Rei as the one she was seeking.

Listening to the song, she crept forward, taking a place at an empty table that was still covered in dirty dishes, waiting for the song to end so she could speak with the squirrel.

A waiter cleared the table before her, giving her a strange look before carrying the dirty dishes and rags away. When the song was over, Kya waited to see if the squirrel had another song or if she was going to leave.

*Quinci enters and seats himself. This looked like a nice place to have dinner. There was even a small show going on with a singer near the front playing some kind of instrument like a guitar. He notices a lemur dimebian sitting in a table nearby. They tend to be hard to miss, they always have long pretty tails that he's always admired.

He'd approach her, but considering the fiasco that occurred the last time he tried to pick up a stranger as a client, he thought better of it. He wasn't really accustomed to talking to people if there wasn't some kind of business going on between them.

As a new song began, Kya sighed and leaned back, glancing around the room, as it was starting to get crowded. No one was familiar, but as she gazed about herself, she noticed a porcupine Dimebian. He had been looking directly at her, she was sure of it.

Considering her options for a moment, she stood and walked to where he sat, taking a seat across from him and staying silent for a moment.

"Do I know you from somewhere?" Kya asked quietly, not wishing to interrupt the song or disturb anyone nearby.

Quinci was a bit surprised, but also glad to have some company. He hadn't really talked with anyone much since he left Syde'Mii. She seemed a bit tense about the whole situation, so while not entirely ruling out the possibility that she was hitting on him, he decides to play it innocent.

"I don't believe so, but it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

He tells her in an equally quiet tone, giving her the soft and friendly smile he usually uses to get people to feel more at ease around him.

"My name is Quinci. Might I ask yours?"

Smiling slightly, Kya forced her body into a relaxed position, hoping she was mirroring his comfort. Looking him over for a moment, she chose to respond truthfully. Maybe it was time to actually trust a few others again. She could always fix mistakes later on, should the others prove dangerous to her.

"Kya," Kya nodded, "What brings you to the middle of nowhere?"

"Me? I'm just broadening my horizons, seeing where I can find some good work here or there. How about you? Are you from 'the middle of nowhere'?"

Smiling slightly, Kya shook her head in the negative, "Not exactly. I'm simply trying to find that 'real world' that everyone else seems to live in."

"Careful" he says "sometimes the real world isn't quite what it's built up to be."

*The waiter comes by to take their orders, and Quinci quickly skims through the menu to find what he'll be having.

"Anything's better than what I had back there," Kya responded before giving the waiter her order and turning back to the singer.

*Quinci makes his order and watches the singer as well

"She is quite good. Friend of yours?"

Looking over at him, Kya shrugs slightly, "Never seen her before in my life."

Allowing herself to look away toward the door and then around the room, she looked for anyone who looked as though they could have possibly hung the poster.

"I wonder who posted this," Kya holds up the poster. Something was telling her that she may not know the person by sight, but she continued searching for them anyway.
